Based on the story of Marie Sainte Dédée Bazile, also known as Défilée-la-Folle, became a heroine of the Haitian Revolution in 1806, when she sought retrieve and bury the mutilated body of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, the first ruler of independent Haiti, after his assassination at Pont Lamage.
