Join us as we March For Consent!
This past school year, Sonoma State experienced an increase in reported cases of sexual assault. It is time we educate ourselves on what it means to get consent, and how important it is in today's society and the social life on college campuses.
The march will begin at 10:30am on campus at Arbor and Lakes, go outside the campus to Rohnert Expressway, to Snyder, to East Cotati Ave, then back into campus to Arbor and Lakes for the rally from 12-1.
Speakers at the rally will include Mo Phillips, SSU's confidential advisor Susan Polido, the mayor Gina Belforte, and City Council member Susan Adams. The march is open to students and the public. This issue is important to so many on campus, and we would love to get as many participants as possible. We are also looking for volunteers to get waivers signed, push the crosswalk buttons as we march, or help guide us as we march.
Participants should check out the Facebook event page for more information, to print out injury liability waivers, to RSVP, etc.
In addition, there is also a GoFundme page if students wanted to donate or share it.
If you want to volunteer, go here to sign up.
