This month’s Art’s and Social Justice meeting is an opportunity to learn more about whitewashing in the media. Whitewashing refers to the erasure of people of color’s experiences and perspectives in favor of white people’s experiences and perspectives An example of this would be when a white actor is cast to play a non-white role, or when a story about POC folks is told from a white perspective. We’ll be taking the issue into our own hands by creating movie posters!
