Amanda is a Xicana Indigenous artist who works with watercolor, gouache, binds multimedia art books, paints textiles and has a community art and social justice education practice in collaboration with BIPOC adults and young people. Join us for some cafe y Pan dulce  as Amanda shares her own experiences with altar making and the connection she feels during and after the process. Amanda will also be presenting on different ideas and philosophies around altar making. Following the presentation, in collaboration with The Dream Center, students will have an opportunity to build an altar in The HUB Cultural Center. Supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring a picture of your loved one for the altar. Please email Alma from The Dream Center @ sanchalm@sonoma.edu or Shelly from The HUB @ gomezs@sonona.edu for more information.
