Student Center Ballroom B

2:30 pm to 3:30 pm - Verity Presentation

3:30 pm to 5:30 pm - Empowered Self Defense (ESD) with Magdalena Diaz

Join us for a two-hour interactive Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) workshop. ESD is a holistic, trauma-informed approach to self-defense. ESD aims to build confidence, aids in providing de-escalation techniques, and leaves individuals feeling empowered. During these two hours folks will rediscover tools to trust their intuition, set boundaries, de-escalate and build physical safety. The workshop will incorporate tools for both emotional and physical safety. The emphasis of ESD is on awareness, assertiveness skills, and physical strategies.

Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity proudly presents this two day workshop intended to educate ourselves as well as the community on sexaul assault awarness. On the first day we'll hear from multiple confidential advocates, who will give a presentation about "rape culutre" on campus. On the second day we will have Magdalena Diaz from Empowered Self Defense give a presentation on self defense, utilising verbal de escalation techniques as well as a trauma informed approach.
