Workouts For a Busy Bee

Imagine this! It’s Monday morning and you have an 8am and two more classes following. In between your classes you hit the library to catch up on some school work. No matter how bad you want to go home after a long day of classes, you’re scheduled to work the night shift. Blah. By the time you get home it’s already 10:30 pm and you still have to eat dinner, do some more homework and shower… yikes!

In other words, you’re a busy bee, similar to most college students. And if you’re anything like me, your schedule stays jammed packed until Friday night, giving you only Saturday and Sunday to really have ‘you’ time.

Having a busy schedule isn’t necessarily bad, however, it can limit the amount of time you have to workout and maintain healthy habits. Therefore, I went ahead and thought of some ways to keep up with your health when you don’t have that much time to spare.

1. Walk to Class

Obviously, this is a no-go when it’s raining or too cold to function. However, on most days, walking to class is doable and an excellent way to get a workout in. Thus, you have to get to class anyway so you might as well knock out two birds with one stone. Looking to amp up your workout? Turn your walk into a run!

2. inMotion Classes Will Save Your Life

Did you know that the Campus Rec offers FREE (yes, I said free) fitness classes to all members and students? Well, they do and you should definitely take advantage of it! All classes are only an hour long, making them perfect to attend in between classes. Some of the classes they offer are Yoga, Cycling, Core Stability and my personal favorite, H.I.I.T.

3. Weights

I’m serious, invest in some weights! Weights are great for amping up even the most basic workouts, especially workouts that you can do at home. So grab some weights, turn on Netflix, and let the crunches begin.

Here’s some places you can buy weights:

Target

Amazon

Dick’s Sporting Goods

4.  Google 45-Min Workouts

So, you don’t have two hours to spare, but what about 45 minutes? Lucky for us, the world wide web offers a wide variety of full body workouts. Don’t believe me? Just google it!

5. Eat Well

And if all else fails, you can always just try to feed your body right. Meaning, we all have to eat, so why not eat in a healthy way? It doesn’t take any extra time out of your day and it’ll help you maintain somewhat of a healthy lifestyle.

Good luck Seawolves :)
