How to Finish the Semester Strong
The end of the semester can sometimes bring a lack of motivation. Check out these tips on how to push through and finish the semester strong:
Make a List
Go through Canvas and write down everything you need to get done for the last couple weeks. Go through that list and prioritize what is of importance. Stick to the list of things to do and cross things off as you finish them! This will keep you on top of each class and assignment. Plus, it feels good crossing things off.
Take it Day by Day (or hour by hour)
Sometimes, life can be overwhelming! Especially thinking about the future. To reduce stress, look at what you need to do for the day, or even just the hour, and take it step by step. You’ll feel good about the little accomplishments from the day and feel less overwhelmed.
Breaks are Good!
Be sure to take time to do things you enjoy, especially with the given situation. Go on a walk, sit outside, paint, read- do what YOU like to do! This helps with mindset and you’ll be able to jump back into your work with a clearer head.
Give it Your All
The slump might be kicking in with only a couple weeks left. Think about it this way- there’s only a few more assignments before you have 2 months of freedom! Work hard and it’ll be done before you know it.
Exercise & Eat Well
A healthy body is a healthy mind! Exercising is a great way to release, and eating well supports that. Whether its taking a walk, riding a bike, doing a yoga session, make sure to get moving!
Sleep
Getting a good nights sleep is the best thing you can do for yourself. This helps with energy, motivation and focus.
Study in Increments
It is important to take the time to sit down and study for exams. But don’t spend all night doing it. Studying in increments of 2 hours is proven to be best, and giving your self a break in between will keep you from burning out.
