5 Ways to Take Care of YOU
Has school, work, and everything else been taking your top priority lately? While it’s important to prioritize those things taking care of yourself has to also be important! Rewarding and refreshing yourself can benefit many other aspects of your life. Just remember you are doing your best and you need to allow yourself to believe that! In spirit of Self Care Week, here are some tips to help you take care of YOU!
Catch Some Z’s
“Sleep? I don’t know her!” Well, you should! Getting enough rest every night truly can effect your physical and emotional health. If you have trouble getting to sleep try a meditation app like Calm or Headspace! Or try putting your phone or computer down & AWAY before hopping into your bed!
2. Hit the Road!
Take yourself on a drive or walk around your neighborhood. Plug in some feel good music and enjoy the scenery. Enjoying fresh air and time alone can help you clear your mind and feel a little bit of serenity.
3. Get that H2o
Giving your body nutritious and delicious food can help boost your mood and energy levels! Also try to up that water game throughout your day. But don’t forget to reward yourself with a treat, or two ;)
4. Write or Talk it Out
Need to decompress after a difficult week? Grab a journal and begin writing about your days. This can help you release your thoughts and is one of the biggest self-care tactics currently. Another idea could be to call a friend or family member to share your feelings and a few laughs!
5. Do ONE Thing You Truly Love Every Week
A small way you can practice self-care is doing at least one thing each week you LOVE! Enjoy cooking? Make a yummy dinner! Enjoy fitness? Try a new at-home workout. This will make you feel like a priority and give you a break from your many other to-do’s!
Self Care is so important , especially as we navigate COVID-19, virtual learning, and other stressors of each day. This week is for all of us. There are many sessions/Zoom rooms to choose from as we try to provide a variety of options/ways you can destress, take a moment to yourself and just breathe. It is so challenging to not worry about yesterday, or tomorrow, but to be present today. Let’s learn how to be present for ourselves. If we can do this, we’ll be more present for others as well.
