7 Productivity Tips For This Winter Break

Winter break is all about balance! After a long fall semester, I’m sure that most of us just want to curl up in bed, watch a holiday movie and relish in the idea of not having a lengthy list of assignments and final exams. During the upcoming 6-week break, it is important to unwind, but also feel that you are working toward your future goals. We are here to give you some tips so that you can feel both productive and relaxed this winter break!

Make A List Of All The Tasks You’d Like To Complete

We know that asking you to make yet another, to-do list may bring more stress than calm vibes, but this time you won’t have any strict deadlines. Whether you’d like to revamp your LinkedIn profile or need to donate old clothes in your closet, write down everything! Once you’ve compiled your list, delegate tasks so that you’re not overwhelmed the last week of break.

Calendar Out Fun Events And Festivities

Try to enjoy the holidays and spend time with loved ones this winter break! Write down all of your events down so that you can delegate tasks around the fun festivities! Remember to sit back, relax and enjoy this time as much as you can.

Organize And Declutter

What better time for a closet clean-out than at the start of the new year! Whether you’ve been procrastinating donating your old clothes, or decluttering the shelves in your pantry, now is the perfect time to do it!

Learn A New Skill

Sign up for a yoga class, pick up the old camera sitting in your closet, or scroll on Pinterest for a new recipe to try. Not only will picking up a new skill make you feel productive, but it could turn into a new hobby that will carry into the new year!

Refresh Your Resume

For Seawolves of all ages, it is never too early (or too late) to craft up your resume! If you work on adding job experiences, internship positions and involvement at SSU little by little, the large task will be much more achievable.

Get A Jumpstart On Your 2022 Planner

New year = new planner! Stop by Target, order online at the University Store, or download a 2022 planner on your phone today. Write down birthdays, upcoming events, and other important dates NOW. In January, you can also integrate assignments and exam dates into your planner from class syllabus’ in Canvas.

Take Time To Rest

Most importantly, catch up on some much needed sleep! Lazy days may not have been accepted during finals week, but now you can take all the time you need for yourself. Binge your favorite show on Netflix, take a bath, or do some skincare to relax and rejuvenate!

The SL Squad is wishing everyone a happy winter break filled with productivity and relaxation. See you in the new year!
