5 Minutes Is All It Takes

Self-care isn’t selfish, which is why you should value the importance of taking the time to do what makes you happy. With midterm exams and assignments piling up left and right, it can sometimes be hard to step away from the stressful environment that consumes our everyday lives. Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or time consuming. Take our advice and practice mindfulness through these tips and ideas!

1) Self Affirmations = Success!

Start off your morning right by writing down something that you’re proud of. Remember that the smallest accomplishments are some of the most important!

2) Get Outside & Enjoy The Sunshine

Fresh air is good for the soul! Take a walk outside or sit on a park bench to refresh and reset your mind.

3) Play Your Favorite Song On Repeat

Put on those headphones and blast a tune that never gets old. Having a little dance party to let loose is guaranteed to make you crack a smile!

4) Hydrate!

This is your sign to drink water, your body will thank you for it! Tip: Find a water bottle that you can take on the go so you remember to hydrate throughout your day.

5) Illustrate Happy Thoughts

Grab a piece of paper and a pen and take a few moments to write down things that you are thankful for and that make you happy. Pin the list up on your wall for you to refer back to and smile!

6) Declutter Your Space!

A messy room = a messy mind. Taking a few minutes to clean up dirty clothes or to make your bed will give you an organized space to get all of your work done.

7) Hit “Do Not Disturb”

In these virtual times, we spend way too much time behind screens. Remember to be conscious of the time you spend on your phone, and know when to unplug!
