Start Your Day With Self Care

As we all sink into our daily routines, it may seem as though new beginnings only come every once in a while. If you stop to think about it, we have new beginnings every single morning. Each day we have the opportunity to care for ourselves, work towards our goals, and become a better person than we were yesterday. Read the tips below that YOU can implement into your morning to practice self care!

Make Your Bed

We’re all guilty of crawling back into bed after an 8 a.m. class or napping instead of doing homework. By making your bed everyday, you can fight this urge and start your day off right!

Add Some Scents To Your Morning

Everyone has a signature scent, what’s yours? Start your morning by lighting your favorite candle or putting some refreshing essential oils in a diffuser. Or if you thrive when you smell coffee brewing, get your coffee maker started!

Hydrate

Make it a healthy habit to drink a glass of water in the morning! This may seem like a simple task, but we promise you that your body, mind, and overall well-being will thank you for hydrating right when you wake up!

Create A “Morning Only” App Folder

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? If you said “check my phone,” you’d be with the hundreds of us that do the same. To combat this unhealthy habit, try making a “morning only” app folder on your phone. This could include meditation apps, breathing exercises, or self affirmation reminders.

Write It Out

Whether it’s your to-do list, self affirmations, or jotting down your thoughts in a journal, writing is a great way to feel productive and get your thoughts out on paper. We encourage you to implement this into your mornings for a positive start to your day!

Step Outside

Fresh air is good for the soul! The power of sitting on your porch or in your backyard and soaking up the morning sun is undeniably refreshing. Stepping outside for even just 5 minutes in the morning can give you a positive perspective to start the day!

Stretch, Walk Or Do Yoga

Hitting snooze may seem like a better idea at the moment, but getting your body moving is a great way to kickstart your day. Ease into exercise by simply stretching, doing a few minutes of yoga, or going for a short walk.

Early mornings can be tough, but with these tips we hope to make them a bit more bearable.  Remember to continue to take care of yourselves each and every day. Stay tuned next week for tips on becoming a NEW YOU this next month!
