Why Valentine's Day is Worth Celebrating

Valentine’s day is a holiday that most either love or hate. Many assume that if you’re not in a relationship with someone then you must not like Valentine’s day and vice-versa. Well we think celebrating Valentine’s day doesn’t mean you have to celebrate with only a romantic partner, it means celebrating ALL aspects of love in your life. We’re talkin’ family, friends, animals, and most importantly YOURSELF. Here is why we think YOU should celebrate Valentine’s day this year.

Every year, as February approaches, the countdown to Valentine’s Day begins. The first two weeks of the month are flooded with advertisements romanticizing the perfect date or gifts for your significant other. Yet everyone has failed in celebrating the true meaning of the holiday. Valentine's Day should be a celebration of all types of relationships in our life, not strictly the romantic ones.

Now a lot of people might ask why we need a holiday to celebrate love, but we say WHY NOT? Love is one of the best feelings in the world. Giving and receiving love from someone in your life is already a gift in itself. So hold off on buying materialistic gifts this season and let your love be your gift to someone/your loved ones. It’s not about the flowers or the cholates, it’s about your company and reminding those around you how much they mean to you.

Don’t get us wrong, make it fun and spice it up however you’d like! Buy the flowers and chocolate, or watch a RomCom, but remember it’s not about how you celebrate this holiday, it’s about what you are celebrating. Celebrate who you love in your life this year and let them know. There’s nothing better than receiving a message about how much someone loves you - and hey, don’t forget about yourself!!

Spread some love this Valentine’s Day Season!
