How To Plan: 101!
It is almost half way through the semester and the overall workload in classes is increasing! It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed when you’re looking at the amount of assignments you have to do, but you don’t have to feel overwhelmed if you plan ahead! How do college students plan ahead, you ask? Consider this your guide to all things planning! From to-do lists to scheduling, this blog has got it all! This is How To Plan: 101!
Having A Planner Or Calendar
Now, this seems like an obvious one. To plan ahead you must have a calendar. But we’re not talking about physical calendars you’d buy for New Years when you’re committed to having the best year yet (even if you quickly fall off). There are many different types of planners and you’ve got to find the best planner that works for you!
Notion
Notion is a workspace that helps you take notes, create tasks, and more. With aesthetic spreads, students are drawn to that clean organizational medium that helps with their to-do lists.
Physical Planner
Don’t underestimate the usefulness of a physical planner! From monthly spreads to weekly spreads, you can invest in a planner that works best for your needs. Some students prefer having a physical planner because they can use colored pens and highlighters to personalize it.
Google Calendar
Google Calendar has become a hit amongst college students. Not only is it an easy way to list their meetings and classes in one spot, but students can also allow blocks of time for homework and socializing.
Planning Ahead
It’s important to designate time each week for assignments. Therefore, what I do is I set a time that is designated for homework so I ensure that I am never staying up late to finish an assignment. I recommend working on assignments in between your classes so you can close your computer and unwind after a long day of school.
Keeping A Google Sheet
I created a Google Sheet to keep track of all of my assignments and their due dates. A problem I struggled with a lot in the past was working on assignments that weren’t due for a while instead of assignments that were due more recently. Looking at my Google Sheet allows me to see what needs to be prioritized. Plus, how satisfying is it when everything is green!
Booking A Study Room At The Library
To make sure you lock in to get your assignments finished, we recommend booking a study room at the library! This can be the time dedicated to finishing your homework and with gorgeous views, it’s a great space to lock in.
I hope this helped, Seawolves! The most important thing is to take a step back and breathe. You GOT this! Happy planning, friends!!! :)
