Author of The Girls in My Town, is winner of the PEN Diamonstein-Spielvogel award for the Art of The Essay. Her work has appeared in Best American Essays, The Normal School, The Los Angeles Review, and other journals. She holds an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa and has received fellowships from MacDowell, Yaddo, and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Currently she teaches creative writing and composition at Glendale Community College and is working on a memoir about early childhood.
