Black Heritage Month Presents, Preserving a Black Legacy through the University Archives

  • Sonoma State University 1801 E Cotati Ave Rohnert Park, CA, 94928 United States (map)

Sonoma State's University Archives—where materials significant to campus history are collected and organized—have the power to capture and even shape our university's collective memory. But whose stories are included in or excluded from this archive? Join us to learn about the importance of local preservation of the Black experience at Sonoma State. Participants of this workshop will learn how to disrupt whiteness in our campus' historical record by ensuring that the voices and stories of SSU's Black students, staff, and faculty are adequately documented for generations to come.
