Bitter Brown Femmes is a leftist podcast hosted by Cassandra (anfemwaves) and Ruben (xoxorubenangel). They regularly tackle issues affecting marginalized groups, particularly LGBT folks and Latinxs. In this talk we will be talking about our own journeys as activists, critics, organizers, and leftists, and how this informed our views on the concept of leadership. We will be talking about engaging our communities without falling into the pit traps of saviorism and academic elitism. We will also be discussing self-care, handling criticism, and engaging advocacy work in the virtual age.
