David Swallow is a member of the Tasunka Witko’s Band of Oglala lakota. He speaks Lakota as a first language and is a Wicasa Wakan, a Sun Dance intercessor , anf a Head Man of Porcupine, South Dakota on the PineRidge Indian Reservation where he lives.David Is the leader of the original Oceti Sakowin traditional leadership of the Lakota Oyate.
