5 Reasons Why You Should Live on Campus
Honestly, our dorms here are easily comparable to nice apartments or even a nice hotel (especially if you get an on-campus meal plan). Think about it, they are seriously huge, you get your own bathroom or share with a roommate, laundry is free, you don't have to worry about paying your bills, you're just steps away from all your classes, and you don't have to worry about parking for class. Not sure how much better it gets than that, but let me break it down for you:
1. Location, location, location!
This is a very underrated advantage. Your dorm is within walking distance to campus and all of your classes, and trust me, you WILL miss this advantage if you move off campus. Driving to class requires you leaving 15 minutes to find parking - and sometimes that's not even enough! You're also walking distance to food spots on campus, the library, sporting events, and more.
2. Safety.
This is a huge advantage. Our dorms require a special key-card and pin number to get in to not only the front door, but also your room. Every person has their own PIN number which makes it even more secure. There are also blue-light security phones around campus that you can use to have a police officer walk you to your dorm if you don't feel safe or have a late class.
3. Opportunity to meet new people.
We offer so many spaces for housing on campus that you are bound to meet new people living around you—especially your neighbors! You have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people that you may not normally hang out with.
4. No bills!!!!
This is probably the biggest perk of the whole list. Not having to pay bills is HUGE and you probably won't understand unless you've had to pay bills before. Take advantage of this time while you live on campus! While you live in the dorms you won't have to worry about the electricity bill, the water bill, the trash bill, the cable bill, the list goes on.
5. You can live with your best friends.
If you have friends living on campus as well, you can choose to live with them. You won't get many opportunities to live with your friends in the future so take advantage of this now!
