Spring= Staying Active

Flowers are blooming, the sun is out, and the smell of fresh grass is everywhere you go. You guessed it, it’s spring time! And Spring is the perfect season to be active. Hence: Blaming your lazy-ness on the weather isn’t a valid or respected excuse anymore. Sorry :/

Lucky for us, we live in Sonoma County, a place that offers a wide variety of activities to participate in to help keep you active. Here’s a list of some of those activities!

1. Annadel 5K Fun Run

Running AND giving back to the community? Sounds like a win-win.

Day: Saturday, April 7 2018

Time: 8:15 am

Cost: $40 before April 1, $45 after

Cause: Help raise money to rebuild trails, bridges and map display cases that were damaged in the October 2017 wildfires

Register and see all other details here

2. Bike the Golden Gate

You can do this any day of the week! It’s around a 2.1-mile bike ride, so not too bad for beginners. Pro Tip: If you need to rent a bike, rent one at Fisherman’s Wharf.

3. Intramural Dodgeball Tournament

Who doesn't love a good tbt to their old gym class days?

Day: Sunday, April 15 2018

Time: 1pm

Cost: Free

Location: SSU Campus Recreation

All you have to do is sign up your team at their front-desk prior to the event!

4. California State Parks’ 20th annual Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup

Earth Week is almost here! So why not get outside, be active, and help make our planet (and local state parks) a greener place?

Day: April 21

Participating Parks: Jack London State Historic Park, Sonoma Coast State Park, Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, Trione- Annadel State Park

5. Rebounderz

Okay, so this isn’t outside but it’s still a fun way to be active! And if a certain day is too hot, it would be a great place to escape the heat with some friends.

6. It’s Pool Time!

Whether it’s the Beauj Pool, the Zin Pool, or the Recreation Pool located in the Wolves Den, swimming is always an excellent way to stay active. And in this weather, being able to “cool” off is always ideal.

Have fun being active Seawolves :)
