What to Expect your Freshman Year

Orientation

Orientation is the place to learn everything about academics, campus programs and services, as well as an opportunity o meet staff, faculty, and other students of your class! Learn everything you need to know about our campus and programs to help prepare for your first day in the fall.

Room Assignments

Room assignments are emailed to your student email account toward the middle of July! We recommend reaching out to your roommate/suitemates to get to know each other and to plan accordingly for fall. This helps to coordinate who will bring what for your dorm! Then get excited to meet everything, because move in weekend will be here before you know it.

Move in Weekend

Mark your calendars for move in weekend! Make sure to check your housing information to find out your movie n time. From 9 AM - 4 PM you will be able to pick up your textbooks at the University Store as well as your student ID and parking permit at Seawolf Services. After, join everyone for the Family BBQ from 4-6 PM on Person Lawn.

First Day of Classes

Don't be nervous, the first day of college is a lot less intimidating then you probably expect it to be. Usually, you will just be going over your class syllabus. If you need help finding a class, don't be afraid to ask someone.

Getting Involved

There are a ton of different clubs and organizations on campus — there is bound to be one that sparks your interest! Getting involved is a great way to meet new people and get adjusted to the campus.
