SSUTTD: Thankful Edition

Businesses from small to large outreached their hands to evacuees and firefighters during the Kincade fire in Sonoma County. We put together a list of local business near SSU that helped out during the Kincade fire. Their stories warmed our hearts. We love their passion & their food!

Be sure to visit these places as an SSU Things To Do if you’re looking not only for good food, but kind and compassionate companies as well.

El Roy’s Taco Truck

El Roy’s serves authentic Mexican food from not one, but three food trucks! A short drive to Petaluma will bring you to one of the food trucks, and a lot of deliciousness. During the Kincade Fire, El Roy’s reached out and served their food to evacuees at the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds evacuation center in Petaluma for the week.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza

Well-known in Sonoma County, Mountain Mike’s is always a good spot for great pizza. What made us love them even more is that their restaurant in Santa Rosa offered free lunch buffets to all evacuees and fire departments.

Address to the closest Mountain Mike’s: 1451 Southwest Blvd, Unit 117, Rohnert Park, CA 94928

Marvin’s Restaurant & Bakery

Located just down the road in Cotati, you’ll find Marvin’s, which is well-known for their breakfast. Marvin’s opened their doors during the Kincade fire and served people for free. Visit Marvin’s if you’re looking for homestyle American cooking in a loving atmosphere.

Special Shoutout: Chefs Guy Fieri, Tyler Florence and Traci Des Jardins

All three of these chefs are local Bay Area residents, and aided in cooking & serving food during the Kincade Fire. They worked with World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization and made thousands of meals for evacuees and firefighters at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Guy Fieri is a Santa Rosa local and also helped serve food during the 2017 fires.

*On top of the businesses listed above, so many others extended their hand to those in need during the Kincade Fire. Seawolf Living is thankful for all of these businesses and many other local businesses not listed in this blog post! These businesses were mentioned in several news articles, which is where this information has come from. #sonomastrong
