“My advice to my younger self would be listen to your heart, do what makes you happy and proud instead of worrying what others will think. This life is yours, and it is so important for you to make decisions for yourself, not anyone else.”

“Join clubs or Greek life as soon as you get to Sonoma! They have brought me lifelong friendships and memories that can also lead to connections later on post-grad."

“My advice would be to take the time to enjoy the little things in life rather than just being so focused on tunneling down a single path.”

“You can set your dreams to the sky and still achieve those dreams. Don’t let no one tell you otherwise and only please yourself. You can’t please everyone.”

“Never give up even when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

“My advice would be to go to office hours whether it's with your professor, TA, or tutoring. As a freshman I was shy to go there but as soon as I went for the first time I realized how beneficial it was for my studies and grades.”

“Live in the moment! I know that sounds cheesy but fully enjoy the moments while you are in them so you don't look back and wish you had done more! Put your phone down and just enjoy who and what you are surrounded with. Go on late night adventures, buy that shirt you saw at the mall, tell that person how you feel and just go with the flow. College goes by faster than you know, so be sure to enjoy every moment like it's your last!"

“The advice I would give to my younger self is to trust the process and everything will work out eventually! And go have more fun in college and make more memories!"

Harlee Suliven

“First off, when they tell you the four years goes quick, believe them! You won't make the friends, connections, or memories any other time in your life like you are here in this moment, so cherish it. Do absolutely everything, go to class (trust me- it will be worth it in the end), go to all the events (you won't believe the amazing people you will meet), and put yourself out there (it's college, everyone feels a little weird). Most important- remember to love yourself through it, make mistakes, exhaust all opportunities, and love often and hard."
