New Year Resolutions Guide

We all know and love the idea of New Year Resolutions, but why can’t we all stick to them? Maybe we set too high of expectations or we “cheat” and then feel defeated. Well, we are here to encourage you to make a New Year Resolutions list BUT a realistic one. SO here’s a guide on How-To make some New Year Resolutions!

REFLECT ON 2022

What did you enjoy about the past year? What did you dislike about the year? Is there something you could’ve done to improve those dislikes? These are the questions you need to ask yourself first. When reflecting, it’s easy to be hard on yourself and get caught up in “what could’ve been” instead of thinking of them as lessons for the FUTURE. The future is what we can change, not the past. Your failures do not define you, they are simply things that didn't go the way you planned. Let’s create a list and remember all the memories, good and bad because you got through them!!

MAKE IT LOOK CUTE

What better way to entice yourself than making your resolutions list look really good? Pull out those artistry skills and fun pens or paper! You could even make a digital one online if that’s more your style too. Like we said we don’t want to feel discouraged by the things we want/should improve on, so let’s make it fun because why not?

LESS OF THAT & MORE OF THIS

Determine what worked for you last year and what didn’t. Many of us can get caught up in resolutions that are unrealistic for our lifestyles or things that might take years to do. Start small and easy. Starting off small and easy can get you to check things off your list quicker and help you create good habits. Once you see yourself checking off those goals on your list, it feels like a reward so you will most likely hit those bigger goals more easily. Do more of what you WANT to do and less of what you think you NEED to do… you can get to those later!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

It’s easy to give up once you “cheat” once or don’t follow through, but that doesn’t mean you should stop completely. So you maybe didn’t follow through, it happens! Keep going and prove yourself wrong! Attack the goals you wanted to accomplish last year, but didn’t. It’s never too late to try something new, set goals, or learn something! YOU got it and WE believe in YOU.

The year’s not over Seawolves, but it’s never too early to start planning for the next! You got this!
