Self Care For Finals Week
With finals right around the corner and the year spring semester coming to an end, stress can creep in. So what better way to relax and recharge than with some self care! Not sure what to do? Seawolf Living has got you covered with some self care activities! Let’s take a look!
Stress Free Zones
Come take a break from finals and chill out at the Stress Free Zone in Weyden & Brewster every night from 8:30 - 10 P.M. the week of finals (5/14-5/17). There’s everything from a PuzzleThon, Scout Cookie Bingo, to making your own potpourri! Each night they will have supplies for any grads to stop by and decorate their grad caps! There will also be a craft station, board games, snacks, and prizes! Definitely take advantage of this resource during finals week. Not only are there stress-free zones, but also other departments on campus are hosting stress-free events such as The HUB, Library, Rec Center, and more! You can find them in the events section of our website!
Go For A Walk OR Hike
Sometimes the best way to wind down is to take a walk outside or go for a hike. Find your nearest trail and go on a hike to get some fresh air and recharge your mind! Listening to nature and being in the sun is always good for your mind and soul.
Healthy Eating
The best thing you can do for your body and mind during such a stressful time is to support your wellbeing by eating healthy food! Eating well can reduce the negative effects of stress on your body and provides the extra energy needed to cope with stressful events. So make sure to get your veggies in and start thinking about what a well-balanced meal for you looks like!
Make Time To Rest
Whether it’s a good night’s rest or taking a nap during the day, the only thing that matters is that you get sleep. While you sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. During the week of finals, many think it is better to stay up late and get their work or studying done. Yet it is actually more beneficial to get rest because your brain is then at its full capacity. So take that nap if you need it and give yourself the chance to get a full night’s rest always, but especially during finals!
