Everything You Can Do With A Pumpkin!

As pumpkin season is in full swing, we started thinking about all the possible pumpkin activities! From going to pick one out at the patch to carving it, there are so many things to do in between and after! So why not break it down and go through the phases of the pumpkin journey! Let’s dive right in.

A TRIP TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH

Stage one is picking out THE ONE. What’s more fun than going to support a local business’ pumpkin patch and walking through fields to find your perfect pumpkin? Pick out the one that feels best to you and take it home! If you need ideas of what pumpkin patch to visit this season, here is a blog all about pumpkin patches in the area!

PAINT THE PUMPKIN

After the pumpkin patch, you can leave some of the real pumpkins as-is and add some simple designs…with paint! A few simple pumpkin painting ideas are painting just the stem, making simple marks, dots, or stripes in one color all over, painting just the bottom, or even following the ridges of the pumpkin to make vertical stripes! There are so many ways you can paint a pumpkin and it's so fun to do!

CARVE THAT PUMPKIN

Haven’t carved a pumpkin yet this year? Well if so, let’s fix that! Pumpkin carving is a great activity to do with friends or watch a festive movie while doing it. It will definitely get you in the Halloween spirit! You can take that already painted pumpkin and carve that one because why not, and this brings us to pumpkin stage three!

ROAST THOSE PUMPKIN SEEDS!

Once you have carved your pumpkin and have gotten all of the guts and seeds out, make sure to save your seeds so that you can roast them afterward! If you ask us, this is the best part! Throw a little oil and seasoning of your choice on them and pop them in the oven! They always turn out delicious, plus they are good for you!

PUMPKIN SMASHING

And we’ve reached the final stage…pumpkin smashing! Pumpkin smashing is a phenomenon and most likely happens simply because, you know, it kinda looks cool. It also could be that pumpkins are round, filled with guts, and look so smashable, making it irresistible. Many have never tried it out, so take that last stage of your pumpkin carved or not and SMASH IT!
