Best Places to Yap on Campus
Do you LOVE to yap? I mean, what’s better than freely chatting with your friends and family? And with Seawolf Family weekend coming up, you most likely have lots to catch up on. But how can you find a place that’s perfect for yapping away? We won’t gatekeep - here are the BEST places to yap on campus.
WINE SPECTATOR LOUNGE
There are plenty of tables outside the Wine Spectator Lounge, and shady areas as well! Free to all, you can come with your friends and family, snag a table, and debrief! It’s almost never busy, so it’s great if you’re looking for a fairly secluded area. Also, it overlooks the beautiful lake so you can yap - with a view!
BEAUJOLAIS FOUNTAIN
The Beaujolais fountain is an area that people merely pass as they’re heading to campus or back to their dorms. However, there is a strip of pavement on the hill that’s perfect for lounging with friends! It gives a great overlook and people often pass by it. Also, the sounds of the fountain running might be perfect for some ambience to your yapping session.
SEAWOLF PLAZA
I don’t know about you, but I am a people watcher! I personally love yapping with friends and observing passerbys. The tables in Seawolf Plaza serve as the ULTIMATE people watching spot. So if you’re like me and like to yap and spectate as people pass, this spot is for you! Plus, it’s close to SIP so you can grab a drink and carry on with chatting.
BY THE LAKES
We’ve mentioned the Wine Spectator Lounge that overlooks the lake, but have we mentioned the lakes themselves?! What a sight to see! Grab your people and take them to a bench by the lake. During the evening when the weather cools and the sun is setting, it’s the perfect time to catch up. But keep in mind - the geese might overhear!
GREEN MUSIC CENTER FIELD
The Green Music Center (GMC) is home to lots of lively events. But what about when these events aren’t going on? Behind the GMC, there is a large field surrounded by greenery and open air. I recommend bringing your people here when there’s no events… you can lay in the grass and watch the sun go down. Honestly, the vibes are just immaculate!
STUDENT CENTER LOBBY
You can’t tell me those cushions don’t look perfect for chatting… And with the cozy fireplace? You can’t resist! Bring your family and friends to the Student Center Lobby, get comfy, and let the yapping session begin.
LOBOS PATIO
I believe this is a hidden GEM on campus. Lobo’s has an outdoor patio that is SO adorable. It’s enclosed by greenery and shade, and has lots of tables to choose from. For the ultimate yapping session, grab some food and come outside to enjoy!
